Challenge Weeks #258-259 - Anything Goes

Hey there, artists and crafty blog friends!  We're so glad you've stopped by for our new challenge.  As we draw close to Thanksgiving, this is a great time to GIVE THANKS to God for all the blessings in our lives.  We are very grateful for His blessings on our blog, on us personally, and for each of you who stops by to share your art with us.  We encourage YOU to take time this week to thank God for all the blessings in your life.  God is so good!

Let's take a look at 2 Corinthians 9:15, the scripture for our new word art.  This verse says, "Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift."  If you have small children, this is an easy verse for them to memorize (at Thanksgiving and always) to acknowledge that we need to thank God for the incredible gift He has given us.  So, what is this "unspeakable" gift He has given us?  Well, to be perfectly honest, He has given us MANY wonderful gifts.  He has given us His unconditional love through Jesus Christ, He has given us His Holy Spirit who pours out His love for us into our hearts and who comforts us when we need Him.  However, there is one particular gift that God has given us that truly merits the designation of being "unspeakable", and that is the gift of eternal life through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  This supreme act of love He made towards us is called "unspeakable" because mere words can't express what an astounding and eternal gift this is.  Because we are all sinners, we deserve to be separated from God forever in a dark pit of fire called Hell (and yes, it's a very real and literal place).  But because God loves us SO much, He provided a way for us to spend eternity with Him by becoming human flesh and coming to this earth to give Himself as the only perfect sacrifice that could satisfy the great debt for all the sins of mankind.  There was no other way to bridge the gap and allow us to come to the Father.  His unspeakable gift means that we don't have to fear Hell.  We can KNOW FOR SURE that we will spend our eternity in Heaven with Him simply by accepting this unspeakable gift, confessing our sinful condition, and asking Him to save us from our sinful ways and help us to live for Him.  He paid the price, and we get the gift.  That is truly a gift worth more than anything.  Will you accept this gift?  He is waiting for YOU.  Happy Thanksgiving!  I know I'm sure thankful to God for His unspeakable gift.

Anything Goes - Challenge Weeks #256 - 257

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday for another great challenge.  We are SO glad that you're here, and we appreciate each and every one of you for stopping by to share your art with us.  We have a FABULOUS prize again this time, some great inspirational art to share with you, a lucky winner, and a great devotional.  We're SO glad you're here, so let's get started!

Let's take a look at the verses, Psalm 95:2-3, for our beautiful new piece of word art.  First, let's all realize what a blessing and privilege it is to be able to come directly "before His presence".  The almighty, sovereign God of the Bible allows us (sinners) to come directly to Him.  That, in and of itself, is a HUGE blessing and privilege.  When we do come into His awesome presence, it should always be done with reverence for WHO HE IS (the God and Creator of the universe).  That alone should cause us to approach Him with thanks.  We owe Him thanks for loving us, taking mercy on us, and dying for us.  We are also told to "make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms".  That doesn't mean we need a beautiful singing voice.  It simply means that when we approach Him, we need to remain reverent and bear in mind that He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Alpha and Omega, and EVERYTHING we need to obtain eternal blessing and security.  So, coming before Him making a joyful noise and with psalms simply means that His much-deserved praises should ALWAYS be on our lips.  We need to remember to lift Him up and keep a joyful noise of grateful praise in our hearts as we approach Him.  That's not necessarily our singing voice; but rather, a genuine heart that is filled with love, joy and excitement about approaching Him for who He is.....our AMAZING SAVIOR.  He alone is worthy of all our praise and honor.  For the Lord "is a great God, and a great King above all gods".  There are many "gods" out there (some self-proclaimed, some made up by individuals or religions, etc., but there is only ONE TRUE GOD, and His name is Jesus Christ, the God and Savior of the Bible.  He truly IS a great king above all gods.  That's because He wasn't fabricated by mankind, and He wasn't conveniently created in the minds of a false religion.  He alone is the ONE TRUE GOD who existed before time began, created everything out of nothing, and the One who was the ONLY perfect sinless sacrifice who could die to satisfy the debt of our sinful human condition.  He really IS a great king above all gods, and I am blessed to know Him as my very own Lord and Savior.......and YOU can, too!  The Bible tells is that "whosoever shall CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD shall he saved.  Saved from what?  Well, there's enough darkness and evil in this world to help you figure out that one.  There is a literal Heaven and a literal Hell waiting for each of us; and by choosing to "come before His presence making a joyful noise with psalms will surely bring us the peace and joy....for He alone truly is a GREAT GOD, and a great King above all "gods".  We sure hope that you know Him in this way because a relationship with Him is like no other, and is life-changing (not only here on earth, but for ALL eternity).

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. Challenge Weeks #254-255 - Anything Goes

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday, everyone!  We're all so glad you're here for another great challenge.  Before we get started, we want to thank those of you who followed us on Instagram and used our hashtag (#WAWchallenge).  The winner of Instagram launch prize is Entry #11 - Gaylynn.  There's still time to get in on our Instagram program.  Just use the hashtag #WAWchallenge ANY time, and YOU could have your cards and projects featured on our Instagram page.  We just LOVE seeing your amazing art shared in our challenges, and we would also love to have the opportunity to feature your art on our Instagram page.  Thanks for sharing your talents with us.  We're so grateful to have you join us.

The scripture file shared for our new challenge was created using the beautiful words found in Romans 11:33.  This verse proclaims, "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out"!  So, what do these words mean?  When we read "O the depth of the riches", this is referring to the riches of God.  These are not "riches" as we would think of them.  But rather, these riches are God's limitless and unending, inconceivable, abundance of resources.  These resources lead us to wisdom and knowledge of God, and out of God's limitless riches He can cause good to come from anything and everything; including evil.  God can take any trial, any person, any thing...and He alone, through His inexhaustible riches (resources) can cause good things to happen.  "How unsearchable are His judgments" is the next portion of this verse, and this refers to His decisions in dealing with the unsaved.  This is another reason why we need to share God's love and the plan of salvation with everyone.   No one can avoid His judgments and decisions, but we CAN be certain of where we will spend eternity.  The words "are past finding out" is speaking to the believers/saved people who also need to remember that we are still accountable for our actions.  There's just no excuse for not sharing God's love with others, and we need to remember that those who don't have a close, personal relationship with Him need us to show them God's love, and how wonderful it is to live a blessed life in Christ.  There is judgment coming, and it's up to each of us to decide what we will do to secure our own position in eternity, and to help others find it as well.

Challenge Weeks #252-#253 - Anything Goes

Welcome to Word Art Wednesday!  It's time for another fun challenge, and we have some BIG news to share with you all.  First, we are launching our Instagram account for the Word Art Wednesday challenges.  If you're an Instagram user, and share your entries on Instagram using #WAWchallenge you may be featured on our Instagram page.  We will be on the lookout for the entries you share using our #WAWchallenge; and.....to celebrate our launch of this, we're offering a special prize package.  One person who uses our hashtag on Instagram will be selected to win this awesome prize.  The next thing we want to share with you is that we are welcoming a new Guest Designer for October, Hillary Harris, as well as a super sweet new full-time Design Team Member, Cheryl Scrivens.  Both of these talented card makers love the Lord Jesus Christ with all their heart, and are excited to share their talents with us; and we feel SO blessed to have them on our team.  Much the same, we feel so blessed to have each of you share your wonderful art with us as well.

Our word art/scripture file for this challenge is Proverbs 8:17.  This verse says, "I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me".   This doesn't necessarily mean that God doesn't love everyone; but just like us, it's difficult to deeply love someone when you don't have an intimate relationship with them.  So, while God cares about every human heart and wants every person to come to Him for salvation, He has a very special and personal love for His children (those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior and placed their eternal faith in Him).  Look at it this way......when you first get married, you LOVE your spouse (of course).  But as the years pass by and go you through trials and joys with your spouse, that love just grows even greater.  By loving God and growing closer to Him, His love for you continues to grow as well.  There's no limit to how much God's love for us can grow as we delight ourselves in Him and draw closer to Him, and ultimately leads to spending glory with Him in eternity.  We become more and more blessed by the close relationship we build with Him.  The second part of the verse that says, "those who seek me early shall find me" is teaching us that it is easier for children to learn of God's love, and accept it, because they haven't experienced as much of the world's evil and sinfulness.  As we grow, our minds become clouded with the diversions of this evil world.  This is another reason why it's SO important to teach children about God's love for them, and pray that they will be saved at a young age before the world corrupts their thinking.  Of course, it's not impossible for adults to be saved.  Praise God, it happens every day!  But when we seek God early in our lives, it becomes much easier to accept His love and all He has to offer, and to grow in His wisdom and love.  The longer we "put it off" or refuse to think about it and make a decision, the more difficult it becomes to humble our hearts before Him.  This verse is a beautiful reminder to us that God loves us and wants us to love Him, and that He encourages us to seek Him now...before it's too late.
